WHAT WE DO

This Post was formed in 1931. It is a non-profit organization that raises money to assist veterans and their families, provides job search assistance and services. It also helps them find housing and connects them with services to help them deal with struggles
such as post-traumatic stress disorder.

The Post 2123 Honor Guard performs over 100 veteran burials and remembrance events each year. There is no charge for their services although donations are accepted to offset travel and maintenance costs.

Youth Programs

VFW Post 2123 may have the best Youth Education Awards program in Virginia. In school year 2018-19 we presented over $3,000 in cash and prizes at our annual awards ceremony to students participating in our Patriot’s Pen (middle School) essay contest; Voice of Democracy (high school) audio Essay Contest; along with Scout of the Year and Teacher of the Year awards. In 2019-20 we have added an Art Contest for elementary school students.
